What it feels like

Jumeirah Golf Estates is deliberately sleepy. Fairways, lakes and generous plots dominate, and the clubhouse is the social centre. If you want street life, this is the wrong community; if you want silence and space, it is excellent.

A gated golf community off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, home to the DP World Tour Championship, with villas and low-rise apartments.

Strengths

  • Two championship golf courses
  • Large plots and villa footprints
  • Very quiet and secure
  • Strong landscaping
  • Good value per square foot at the top end

Weaknesses

  • Almost no walkable retail
  • Limited dining beyond the clubhouse
  • Further from schools
  • Feels isolated to some residents
